IPTtips.com Launches

After purchasing an iPod Touch (IPT), I quickly discovered that its capabilities far surpassed being just a media player with its Multitouch interface, WiFi, Web browsing, and basic PIM applications. And with existing "unofficial" and forthcoming "official" applications, the IPT could easily be destined to become the killer next-generation PDA. So, in keeping with tradition, I registered IPTtips.com to provide Tips, reviews, and information about the iPod Touch.

I'm really excited about the iPod Touch, particularly because Apple has plans release a Software Development Kit (SDK) so we should soon see additional applications. There is also an "unofficial" group of dedicated and skilled developers who are also creating applications that really boost its capabilities.

Page Creator Tip #4: Getting an Account Print E-mail

First and foremost, you must have a Gmail account in order to access Google Page Creator. If you do not have a Gmail account, go to http://Gmail.com and follow the instructions to sign up for one. If you need an invitation, please email me, and I'll send you one.

If you already have a Gmail account, you are in luck...almost. Navigate to either of these pages...

http://GooglePages.com
http://pages.google.com

...and it will bring you to a login screen. I said "almost" because Google has been limiting new accounts due to overwhelming response. If you do gain access, you are all set. If not, please be patient, as this is still beta--you will eventually be granted access.

That's it! Once you login, you see the Page Manager screen where you manage your pages...but that's for another Tip!

Google Calendar Tip #1: Before you import anything... Print E-mail

Like many Google products, Google Calendar is still in Beta, and as such is not without its quirks and issues. It has been reported in several forums that importing calendars from Microsoft Outllok, while quite efficient and useful, can sometimes rsult in some corrupted events. While this isn't a major issue--deleting the event corrects this--if you have hundreds or thousands of events, manging the problems can be quite a task. The problem is that if you really mess things up in yout main calendar, there is no way to "delete all" of the events short of deleting the calendar, which deletes your calendar account wiping out everyting. You can be very easily reinstate your account after deletion, but I have a suggestion that could make things easier....

At this time, Google Notebook only lets you print out entire Notebooks, not selected Notes. This can become very frustrating, especially if a Notebook contains a LOT of notes, and you only want to print one of them. So until Google adds a "Print selected notes" function, I have a workaround for this that's a bit of a kludge, but it works. Read on for details...
